Spring River Parent Teacher Council
A culture of volunteerism has always been at the heart of our Spring River Community. Our Parent Teacher Council promotes community life and supports the school's fundraising efforts and festivals.
In 2014, we started as a group of dedicated parents working together to create seasonal community festivals and parent education groups. In 2015, we offered enrichment classes supporting the homeschool efforts of our families. In the fall of 2018, we offered main lesson and enrichments for homeschooling families for the first time.
In 2021, we are excited to offer full time programming for the first time in addition to our part time options. It is the on-going enthusiasm, support and commitment of parents that helps maintain Spring River as a healthy and harmonious homeschool community.
All parents are automatically members of the Parent Teacher Council (PTC). Each class’ room parent volunteers to represent their class at Council meetings and bring PTC news and projects back to the other parents. PTC activities are vitally important to our school, as is every family's participation in them. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the monthly meetings. Our Parent Teacher Council is led by our PTC President and College of Teachers volunteer and functions under the guidance of our Program Director and Board of Directors.
Meet our PTC President: Jennifer Bossbaly!
Jennifer Bossbaly is a Jacksonville native who embarked on a journey in the northeast from 2011-2020 where she taught both adult and children's yoga and led women's retreats in the tri-state area.
Her love for her home town brought her back to the beaches last summer. She instantly felt at peace in the Spring River community where her children Jacob and Lola were enrolled last year.
Jen led our yoga enrichment program in 2020-21 and was very involved in our new outdoor program. She is excited to join the Parent Teacher Council and assist in the new adventures Spring River has in store for the upcoming school year.
You can often find Jen and her family at the local parks, bike riding, hanging at the beach or in their car heading off on a weekend adventure. She has a love for travel, music, family and community and holds working with women and children in the highest regard.
