Why We Run: Supporting Our Teachers

Please consider supporting Spring River School’s annual Fun Run. Each spring, our students secure sponsorships from friends, family, and community supporters, then run our designated course as they work toward their personal goals. This joyful community event is both a celebration of movement and a meaningful fundraiser for our school.

Our 2026 goal is to raise $20,000 through individual donations and business sponsorships.

All funds raised through the Fun Run go directly to support the professional development and training of our teachers. Your generosity helps strengthen the heart of our school by investing in the adults who guide, inspire, and care for our students each day.

Why This Work Matters

At Spring River, we believe that the most important investment we can make in our children is the continued growth and development of their teachers. Inspired teaching does not happen by accident—it grows through study, mentorship, reflection, and lifelong learning.

Each year, our community comes together to support this work. Funds raised through the Spring River Run allow our teachers to deepen their craft and bring new insight, creativity, and care into the classroom.

These funds help support opportunities such as:

Waldorf Education master’s-level study through Antioch University
Mentorship programs and visiting teachers who guide and strengthen our faculty
Building Bridges and grade-specific Waldorf teacher training through the Center for Anthroposophy
The Integrated Student Support Program inspired by the work of Kim John Payne
Neurodiversity and inclusive education training to better support diverse learning styles and developmental needs
Rooted in Language literacy training
Outdoor education training through the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools
Waldorf Early Childhood certification (WECAN) through Sophia’s Hearth
Childhood and human development workshops

Your support helps provide essential professional development for our teachers, including Waldorf teacher training, literacy programs, outdoor education training, neurodiversity and inclusive learning training, and mentoring that strengthens the classroom experience for every child.

Sponsorship also provides meaningful visibility for your business within a vibrant and engaged community of families across the Jacksonville Beaches and Northeast Florida. Sponsors are recognized on our website, through campus-wide communications and social media, and during the event itself.
