What We Do: The Heart of Our Work

"If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, then let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it. "

About Spring River
Waldorf-Inspired • Nature-Based • Community-Rooted

Founded in 2014, Spring River is a vibrant homeschool enrichment program serving families throughout Jacksonville, Florida. Our mission is to support parents in their educational journey by offering Waldorf-inspired, nature-based learning environments that nurture the whole child—head, heart, and hands.

While our curriculum and culture are modeled after Waldorf schools, we are not a Waldorf-accredited independent school. Instead, we honor the homeschooling path by providing supplemental, community-based programming led by trained teachers and aligned with Waldorf principles.

Parental Partnership
At Spring River, we deeply value the role of homeschooling parents as primary educators. Our programs are designed to support and enrich your homeschooling journey, not replace it. We offer structure, rhythm, and community without compromising the flexibility and freedom at the heart of homeschooling.

Our Programs:

Our Faculty & Commitment to Quality
Our teachers bring a blend of Waldorf training, classroom experience, and deep care for the art of education. Our tuition is intentionally set to reflect our commitment to paying our teachers a living wage.

Our Nonprofit Mission
Jacksonville Educational Community, Inc. (doing business as Spring River School) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to nature-based, Waldorf-inspired education in Northeast Florida.

Every tax-deductible donation directly supports our efforts to:
-
Provide meaningful educational opportunities for homeschooling families
-
Offer fair wages to our dedicated faculty and staff
-
Maintain and grow our outdoor learning environments
-
Keep tuition as accessible as possible for a diverse and inclusive community.

Together, we are cultivating a future rooted in wonder, wholeness, and connection, nurturing the potential of every child and every family we serve.
