Spring River Dewdrops

As a non-profit educational organization, it is important to Spring River School to provide space to bring our youngest community members together for playtime.

Because of that need, we established Spring River's Dewdrops, an unstructured parent-led playgroup with outdoor meet-ups once a week at local parks.  This playgroup is for caregivers and their young children, ages birth to 5. Participation in Spring River programming is not a pre-requisite but we will ask parents a few preliminary questions before joining.

From babies who can bask in the warmth of father sun and drink in the songs of the birds, to five-year-olds who are bursting with energy and longing for that magic that occurs when creative young children can work and play together, and for every child in-between - Spring River Dewdrops Playgroup is for you!

This is also a space for parents to connect and grow in their journey of fostering a holistic Waldorf- inspired home.

This year Dewdrops is led by Meg Johnson.  Meg is a homeschool mom of 4 who moved to the Jacksonville area from Missouri in 2015. She worked as a Pediatric ER nurse until deciding to stay home and focus on what she cherishes most-her children.

Her family loves adventure and the outdoors and in 2020, sold their home in Orange Park to travel the country in their RV, exploring this beautiful country and countless National Parks.

After a year, they found their way back to Jacksonville where two of her children joined classes at Spring River School, while she and her youngest son joined the Dewdrops playgroup.

This year, Meg is excited to grow with the Spring River family as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Kindergarten class and leading the Dewdrops playgroup!
